SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTGRACELAND - A LIFE FOR EVERY LIE Contributed by: Alma Quinagora Message by: Armi Rae Cacanindin, Assistant Director “We spoke the language that we breathe, the language that flows in our bloodstream - the language of filmmaking...”
Two Americans, a Swede, a Frenchman who grew up in Madagascar, a Filipino who was born and raised in New Jersey, a Japanese with Korean decent, and Filipinos born and raised in different parts of the Philippines, these are just a few of the crew that made "Graceland" come to life.
Different cultures, different background, different attitudes, and yes, different eating habits. Who said it was easy AD-ing for this film? Almost every day you'd hear a discussion/fight/argument/professional debate (choose one depending on how your culture would define it). Aside from time (it was shot in 17 days in a span of 20 days) the main enemy was language barrier. But despite all these, WE MADE IT. How? We spoke the language that we breathe, the language that flows in our bloodstream - the language of filmmaking. At the end of the day our passion and zest for filmmaking overcame whatever differences we had. |
